Metal Lens Filter Rear Cap
Simply screw your filters together then screw the rear cap on the bottom.
Made of aluminium alloy, the filter cap is slim and exquisite, it is easy to carry and takes up a little space.
The Simple Gadget That Solves a Filter Owner's Biggest Annoyance
Let's be honest. We invest in great glass filters—a polarizer to make skies pop, an ND for silky waterfalls, maybe a UV for permanent protection. We handle them with care when screwing them on. But what happens when we take them off? They get tossed into a pocket, buried at the bottom of a camera bag, or left unprotected on a shelf. That expensive, scratch-prone glass is left completely vulnerable to the very things it's supposed to help us capture: dust, sand, and sharp objects like keys or other gear.
It's a problem that doesn't get enough attention. Your lens has a rear cap. Your camera body has a body cap. Why should your most-used creative tool—your filter—be left exposed?
Meet the simple, brilliant, and utterly essential solution: the Metal Lens Filter Rear Cap. Think of it as a dedicated, protective home for the back side of your filter. No more leaving the delicate rear glass element naked. This sturdy metal cap screws on securely, turning your loose filter into a sealed, protected unit that's safe to store anywhere.

Wait, what exactly is this? How is it different from the cap that comes with my filter?
Great question! Many filters come with a cheap, flimsy plastic pouch or a basic front cap. Our Metal Filter Rear Cap is a different and complementary tool. It's a precision-machined, threaded metal cap designed specifically to protect the rear (camera-side) threads and glass of your filter. When combined with the filter's original front cap, you create a fully enclosed, rigid"case"that protects the filter from all sides. It's the missing piece in your filter protection system.
Why do we need this? Our filter seems fine in its little bag.
Those thin pouches offer almost zero crush protection. A slight bump in our bag can press another lens against our filter, causing permanent scratches or cracks on the glass. A metal rear cap provides a hard, protective shell. It keeps the rear threads clean and undamaged (damaged threads can get stuck on your lens!), and prevents dust and moisture from settling on the glass. It's about long-term investment protection.
How do we use it? Is it complicated?
It's the easiest piece of gear we'll own! Simply unscrew filter from our lens. Then, screw this Metal Rear Cap onto the back threads of the filter. That's it. Now we can safely drop it into our bag's pocket. When we need the filter again, unscrew the rear cap and screw the filter onto the lens.
Will it fit our brand of filter?
Yes! Compatibility is based on thread size, not brand. Whether we use B+W, Hoya, Tiffen, NiSi, LingoFoto, or any other standard filter, if the diameter matches, it will fit. Check the filter's rim for the size marking (e.g.,"Ø77mm"or"77mm").
Will the metal scratch the filter?
No. These caps are made from high-quality, anodized aluminum with a smooth, threaded interior. The machining is precise to ensure a secure but gentle fit. They are designed specifically to protect, not damage, your gear.
If you already have the"Stack Caps"we sell. Is this the same thing?
This is the perfect partner for those! Think of it this way:
A Filter Stack Cap attaches to the front of your filter, allowing you to stack another filter on top of it for shooting or safe storage.
A Filter Rear Cap attaches to the back of your filter for ultimate protection when it's not in use or being stored alone.
For the best protection, use a Rear Cap on the back and either the filter's original front cap or a Stack Cap on the front.
