Will this affect my image quality?
The tube itself, being empty, has no effect. However, the quality of the accessory you put in front of it does. A cheap, poorly-made filter or converter lens can degrade sharpness and cause vignetting (dark corners). Investing in decent quality accessories is key to getting good results.
 

There are different tubes (e.g., silver/black, 52mm/58mm) for the same camera model. Why?
There are two main reasons:

 Can we stack multiple tubes or filters?
Technically yes,better no to. Stacking too much weight on the end of your camera's retractable lens barrel can strain the motorized mechanism. It's also more likely to cause vignetting. Use only what you need.
